HAPPY NEW YEAR!!!

Hi Everybody!

I hope you all had a happy and restful holiday season. School isn't back here until the 8th, so I still have my little man home with me everyday. Yay!

I have a lot of fun stuff coming up, and I'm so excited to get started.

One thing I want to tell you all about is that I crocheted my first blanket. My next blog post will be all about it. It was very rewarding to start on such a big project and finish it. It helped that it was a gift. Otherwise, I don't know if I would have persevered. I'll tell you more in the next blog post. Here is a sneak peak. I posted this picture on instagram, facebook, and twitter already.

I also want to show you some of the other things I made over the holidays, so stay tuned.

What else?

I will still be doing a lot of crochet. I can't help it. It is my new love! <3 p="">
But, I also have plans to do a lot more needle felting, embroidery, some upcycling crafts, and so much more!

I have made upcycled items before by using an old leather jacket to make zippered pouches. I've also used an old pair of pleather pants to make a purse.

I love the idea of taking objects that are no longer useful and using them to make other useful items. One of the ideas I have for this will incorporate the last 3 crafts I mentioned. I want to take used material, whether it be wool from an old skirt or sweater, or from an old pair of jeans, etc. and make things out of them.

One of the projects I will most likely make first is felted wool zippered pouches with needled felted and embroidered embellishments. I picked up some used wool items from the thrift shop and I have washed and dried them to felt them up nicely. They are just waiting for me to make things out of them. I can't wait!

Another thing I am planning is to make more needle felted art. I really like needle felting, so I'd like to spend more time doing it, and maybe learn a few new techniques as I explore it more.

Here is the first piece of needle felted art I did. I have it hanging on the wall in my craft room.

I really love it and I can't wait to make more. I'm going to use some of my pictures of local scenery to make a few. I better check my stash of wool roving to make sure I haven't run out of any of the colours I may need.

I really love working with real wool, so I can't wait to get busy.

One more thing!

I will be streaming more often on Twitch Creative. You can follow my channel here so you will be notified when I go live, but I will also post to twitter and facebook when I am planning to go live. I am contemplating a regular stream on Tuesdays (Twitch Tuesdays), and then I will do impromptu streams on other days/times. If you're not sure what Twitch is I wrote a blog post about it. You can read that here.

I hope to see you there. 😊
