What in the Heck is Twitch Creative?

Hi everybody,

You may have seen me post about going live on TwitchTV, or say I'm going to live stream, or that you can watch me making something on Twitch Creative.

You may be wondering what in the heck is Twitch Creative?

TwitchTV was originally a gaming network where you could go and watch people game. Have you ever seen a PewDiePie video on Youtube, or some of the Minecraft videos the kids watch. My son watches DanTDM on Youtube. Most of the time, Dan is playing Minecraft and talking away as he does it. Basically, giving a running commentary and being his lovable silly self. He has millions of subscribers.

Okay, so you must know who Bob Ross is.

Happy little clouds?

I used to watch Bob Ross on the weekends on PBS and I would be so mesmerized with how he turned splotches of paint into works of art right in front of my eyes. It was a rare treat to watch Bob Ross create a painting from start to finish while he spoke gently about the brush strokes and the colours of the paint.

Alizarin Crimson, Prussian Blue, Titanium White, Cadmium Yellow.

"Just scrape in a few indications of sticks and twigs and other little things in there. People will think you spend hours doing this."

He always made it look so easy.

I think I really loved watching Bob Ross because of his love of painting nature, and big trees. We shared that love of big trees.

"You know me, I gotta put in a big tree."

And,

"Maybe in our world there lives a happy little tree over there."

Or,

"Talk to the tree, make friends with it."

You can watch Bob Ross on Twitch Creative.

You see, Twitch Creative is a place where you can go watch people do/make/play/create things.

It's real reality tv.

You name it, you can probably watch somebody craft it, or play it, on Twitch Creative.

Believe it or not, people even like to watch other people crochet and knit.

They watch people cook, read books, recite poetry, sing and play the piano, sew costumes from start to finish (cosplay), sketch, blow glass, make pottery, etc. I could go on and on.

The way it works as a creator is that you get followers who will be notified when you go live. If you get to a certain amount of followers then people can subscribe to you. When you get that far you can quit your day job, but in reality there are not that many that can actually do that.

A lot of people just do it because they are doing what they love doing and sharing it with others who also love it. That's why I do it.

During a live broadcast you can interact with the creators in a chat window.

This means, you type into the chat window and the creator will read your message and answer you by speaking out loud back to you.

Some streams are more interactive, and some are more for people who don't want the interaction and don't want to feel pressured to chat. They just want to lay back and watch. They find it relaxing.

It is so fun to browse and see who is doing what at any particular moment in time.

Mostly, it is people streaming live, but creators can also archive their past broadcasts for you to view at a later date. These broadcasts can also be exported to Youtube.

That is what I did with some of my past broadcasts. I exported them to my Youtube channel.

You can watch my live broadcasts of a crochet amigurumi orca killer whale, a crochet alpaca/wool amulet pouch necklace, or a crochet amigurumi ice cream cone key chain.

In my latest broadcast I made some wool felt sushi play food, but I took the broadcasts down due to technical difficulties in which the main web cam that showed me making the items kept freezing. :-(

I hope to do more broadcasts soon, and if you go check it out over at TwitchTV, please give my channel a follow. No pressure though. :-)

I hope you find something you like there.

You can also subscribe to my youtube channel here and see what I have listed in my Etsy Shop here.

Thanks for stopping by.

Let me know in the comments section if you checked it out over at TwitchTV and what you thought.

Also, let me know if you have a channel or a blog for me to check out too.
